Pittsburgh-AP -- Pittsburgh Steelers chairman Dan Rooney wants the N-F-L to make sure playing fields are playable in snowstorms.
Rooney is unhappy that Giants Stadium personnel weren't better equipped to remove snow that fell before and during the Steelers' loss to the New York Jets earlier this month.
The storm wasn't unexpected, but equipment and a plan for clearing it was missing. Rooney says the Steelers always make contingency plans when bad weather is predicted in Pittsburgh.
He wants the N-F-L to step in and make sure that stadiums are in adequate shape for all games.
A league spokesman says league officials understand Rooney's concerns and will follow up with the New Jersey Sports Authority, which operates Giants Stadium.
